The slogan of “Stay Here. Play Everywhere.” was created because Montrose is in the middle of some of the most popular towns to do things in. While you stay in Montrose, you can play in some of the best tourist towns in the world, because they are located so close to Montrose. For example, you can go river tubing on the Uncompahgre River or go 4-wheeling or hiking in Ouray, which is only about 45 minutes away. You can go Ice Climbing during the winter months in Ouray, Colorado. Ridgway is only about 25 minutes away and offers river tubing, paddleboarding and lake fun, mountain biking, and hiking. Don’t forget to go camping in the summer months!
Montrose, CO is home to the Montrose Water Sports Park and the largest Rec Center on the Western Slope. You can spend time with your furry friends at the dog park, and even hit the running trails that connect all over town. We are that outdoorsy, dog loving town located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I can’t wait to show you around my town!
Things To Do in Montrose

Cerro Summit Recreation Area
Cerro Summit is great family fun for the whole family no matter what time of year it is. In the Winter, Cerro Summit is the go-to place to have a fun day of sledding or tubing. It’s a great way for the whole family to get out and play in the snow. The warmer months are perfect for mountain biking, hiking, and trail running. Telluride Ski Resort
While you may be staying in Montrose, be sure to hit one of the most popular ski resorts! Telluride Ski Resort is just over an hour from Montrose. People from all over travel just to ski and snowboard on these slopes during the winter months. If you haven’t already, be sure to experience the thrill! Visit Their Website.

Montrose Water Sports Park
While staying in Montrose, be sure to visit the Montrose Water Park. It is surrounded by trails, wildlife, nature, and parks. There are loading docks to easily unload kayaks and paddleboards. In the Summer months, you can even catch events happening right on the water. Even if you aren’t interacting in the water sports, you can hang out on the beach areas. Off-Leash Dog Park
Plan a play date at the Off-Leash Dog Park located on the north end of Cerise Park. It’s within walking distance along the Uncompahgre River Recreation Trail. This Dog Play Area consists of a different fenced areas, one for small dogs and another for large dogs.
